Programs for Parents
Healthy Authority and Discipline: How can we learn to be positive authority figures for our children without becoming authoritarian? How do we bring discipline to our children without damaging their initiative? How do we help our children develop self discipline and respect for themselves? By exploring our experiences of authority and ideas about discipline we will seek to form a new relationship to these crucial aspects of parenting.
Simplicity Parenting: This seven part workshop explores how we can reduce stress in our homes and our children's lives by looking at environment, scheduling, screen usage, rhythms and routines and many others. Based on the work of Kim Payne, this interactive model builds on simple principles to create big changes.
Get Playful: Children love games and movement. In this workshop we will learn about the role of movement in child development, how traditional childhood games can be used to teach social skills, movement skills and to strengthen connection with our children. Time will be devoted to understanding how to select and adapt games to various ages of children and different sized groups.
